Hays Accountancy & Finance are seeking an experienced Finance Professional to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will lead the financial accounting team and play a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance across the group.
This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a leadership role and enjoys driving process improvements and delivering strategic financial support to the wider business.


Your new role
  • Oversee the completeness and accuracy of all financial transactions and ensure timely reporting.
  • Manage monthly balance sheet and income/expenditure reconciliations.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of statutory returns, including VAT and corporation tax.
  • Drive improvements in financial control processes and ensure month-end deadlines are met.
  • Monitor cash flow and produce accurate forecasting reports.
  • Take ownership of treasury management, including bank mandates and online banking systems.
  • Manage internal and external audit programmes and assist with annual statutory accounts.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the financial accounting team to deliver a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insight and challenge where appropriate.
  • Maintain and update financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current standards.


What you'll need to succeed
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and control within a complex organisation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and statutory reporting.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process improvement.
