Assistant Accountant – Company Owned Profitability
Location: Belfast
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £28,000–£32,000 per annum
Benefits: Up to 10% employer pension contribution, Hybrid, Parking
Role Overview
This hybrid role supports the Company-Owned Profitability Manager in enhancing store performance across all retail stores. The Assistant Accountant will contribute to financial reporting, cost-saving initiatives, and commercial analysis, with regular store visits required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and budget gross margins and fuel profitability
- Support procurement and cost-saving projects
- Assist in capital expenditure proposals for store refurbishments
- Benchmark payroll and manage contracts database
- Analyse spend on non-resale goods and electricity usage
- Contribute to business cases and commercial efficiency projects
- Support quarterly stock counts and investigate stock loss variances
Success Measures
- Reduced stock loss and improved reporting
- Cost savings from procurement initiatives
- Enhanced gross margin and store profitability
- Timely delivery of business cases and project rollouts
What you'll need
- Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Full driving licence and business-use vehicle insurance
- Excellent Excel and communication skills
- Commercial reporting and procurement project exposure
