Assistant Accountant
Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant looking to join a dynamic finance team in a fast-paced, supportive environment? We’re working with a well-established organisation seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to support their finance function across a broad range of duties.
Key Responsibilities:
As Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the month-end process and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations.

- Assisting with month-end and year-end close: journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
- Preparing and posting general ledger entries
- Completing accounts to TB level
- Bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
- Supporting the production of management accounts
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Raising and processing invoices (sales and purchase ledger)
- Credit control and cash allocation support
About You:
- Confident with Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP)
- Completing accounts to TB level
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- A team player with excellent communication skills
- Able to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
