ART TEACHER | SECONDARY SCHOOL JOBS | EAST LONDON | HAYS EDUCATION

Your new company

Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in East London to recruit an enthusiastic and creative Art Teacher for a September 2026 start.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking Art department where creativity, innovation and student engagement are at the heart of the curriculum. The school has a strong reputation for promoting the arts and provides students with excellent opportunities to develop their artistic skills across a range of disciplines.

The successful candidate will teach Art across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 for suitably experienced applicants.

Your new role

  • Teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress effectively
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to departmental development and enrichment activities


What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Art within a UK secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for visual arts
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
