Working for a Research and Development company based on the outskirts of Bristol, on a hybrid basis (2-3 days per week).

Your new role

Key responsibilities include designing solutions for both standalone and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure. A solid understanding of Windows Server and Networking is essential. Experience with Manufacturing Operational Infrastructure, such as PLCs, IoT, or OT, is highly desirable. Your expertise will provide critical guidance to the business in making informed decisions, and you will act as a key authority in resolving technical issues as they arise.

This role is crucial for ensuring alignment between IT strategy and business goals within the highly regulated defence sector. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in on-premises Solutions Architecture, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-specialists.

What you'll need to succeed

• An experienced professional, with at least 5 years of Solutions Architecture experience to join our team, with varied experience across Infrastructure, Networking and end-to-end Solution Design

• Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design, with a strong track record in solutions or technical architecture roles.
• Extensive knowledge of various operating systems, databases, and multiple technology solutions, including cloud.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-specialists.
• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities, with a proven capacity to prioritize effectively and deliver results.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously, driving projects to successful completion.
