Data Architect - Associate Director - 12 Month Contract + Extension, Macclesfield (Hybrid role)

Your New Company

The S/4HANA data migration lead is a key member of the Data and Analytics team supporting AstraZeneca’s ERP systems transformation project.

In short, this function will focus on the data cleanse, preparation and migration of clinical supply chain data in support of the new clinical supply functionality in S/4 HANA. This includes mapping of legacy systems and data sources to build processes to build or migrate data from said sources into S/4 HANA clinical supply chain planning module.
The incumbent will lead cross functionally across Ops, Various Tech teams and various clinical supply teams to profile, cleanse and migrate data from source systems to S/4.
The Leader will assist in defining Information architecture, data standards, models, ontologies and taxonomies and reusable designs as required to scale the migration activities across various clinical supply organisations.


Your New Role

Enterprise Data Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for maintenance and update of various data cleansing playbooks and processes that will be leveraged across the program for clinical supply
  • Responsible for contributing to the definition of the overall Enterprise Data Strategy and Standards in partnership the AstraZeneca business functions (namely in line data and clinical supply offices)
  • Accountable for developing and implementing a complex matrix of data profiling tools and standards such that various reports and analysis of the report drives and efficient cleanse and harmonisation processes for the program.

Delivery Related Accountabilities:

Responsible for (and in partnership with various cross-functional stakeholders mentioned above) determining the correct data standards, timelines to fulfil the needs of data cleanliness goals in preparation for migration to S/4 This includes:
  • Providing project-level guidance, education and design expertise for data profiling, cleanse and harmonisation and eventually migration.
  • Provides Guidance based on business requirements that determines the different types of data structure types needed to operationalise clinical supply processes in S/4HANA.
  • Supports the development of Data Integration architecture and overall Data Integration design
  • Approves the various artifacts ensuring enforcement of standard enterprise data element names, abbreviations, characteristics, and domains during the lifecycle of a project
  • Responsible for approving many of the project deliverables to ensure compliance and reuse within Architectural Standards as defined by the Chief Data Architect.

Data Standards and Quality Management
  • Deliver on the strategy and lead the global implementation of cleanse and harmonisation metrics and forums for S/4HANA.
  • Direct the cross-functional development and ongoing continuous improvement of Data Profiling reports and analytics needed to support clinical supply
  • Assist in setting strategy and execution plans for Data Cleanse and Migration activities in support of migration from legacy sources to new SAP S/4HANA solution
  • Assist in Development of Data Quality strategy for the organisation, and secure its execution across functions, to raise data quality.
  • Identify relevant stakeholders, establish cross-functional priorities to direct Data Quality metrics for Cleansing and Harmonisation and oversee continuous remediation across functional borders in S/4HANA.
  • Data Asset stewardship and guidelines
  • Influence key senior stakeholders, to maintain alignment to data quality and governance strategy.

Essential Skills
  • Extensive experience and knowledge within the domain of clinical supply, data migration or other relevant data management activities into S/4 HANNA
  • Experience in moving unstructured data into a migratable format to facilitate data load for S/4- pharma / clinical supply experience is advantageous.
  • Able to influence and deliver strategic vision, direction and planning
  • The role holder will possess a blend of data architecture, analysis, and engineering skills
  • Understanding the appropriate data structure and technology based on business use case
  • Experience in the use of data modelling technologies
  • Experience in Agile data definition scrums
  • Experience in the use of metadata cataloguing tools
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent number of years of experience in a Computer Science or Data Management related field

Desirable
  • Post-graduate degree in MIS, Data Management
  • Extensive experience in a data architect role with practical examples of designing and providing data engineering blueprints that have been pragmatically and actually implemented
