Job Title: Business Administrator
Salary: £28,000 Contarct: Full‑Time | Monday – Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm (1‑hour lunch)

A well‑established organisation within the manufacturing and technical production sector is seeking a highly organised Business Administrator to support commercial and operational functions.
This role plays a key part in ensuring customer orders, quotations, and production workflows are processed efficiently and accurately. The successful candidate will act as a central link between sales, operations, and customers—ensuring smooth communication, timely updates, and exceptional service delivery.
Role Purpose
To input sales orders, quotes, and production information accurately and promptly, supporting operational efficiency and ensuring customers receive timely updates from order acknowledgement through to invoicing. This role also includes general office administration, customer communication, and supporting wider business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Order Processing & Administration
- Accurately input customer orders, quotes, and specifications into internal systems.
- Update customers on order status from acknowledgement through to production and invoicing.
- Process general administration paperwork and maintain accurate digital and paper records.
- Update customer and supplier information as required.
Customer Communication
- Answer incoming calls professionally and direct enquiries to the appropriate teams.
- Liaise with customers to confirm orders, delivery expectations, and respond to queries.
- Support the resolution of customer issues and complaints within agreed timescales.
Production & Workflow Coordination
- Process technical specifications and sales orders for the production team via internal systems.
- Ensure production has accurate information to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Support colleagues with updates on order progress and any changes affecting workflow.
Office & Operational Support
- Assist with mail merges, promotional mailouts, and customer communication campaigns.
- Support any department when required to ensure business deadlines are met.
- Contribute to the smooth running and general upkeep of the office environment.
- Maintain strong daily communication with colleagues to ensure continuity and teamwork.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience within manufacturing, production administration, or technical environments (advantageous but not essential).
- Ability to understand and interpret basic technical drawings or specifications.
- Strong communication skills across phone, email and written correspondence.
- Excellent time‑management and the ability to prioritise own workload.
- Customer‑focused approach, with the ability to build rapport and exceed expectations.
- Strong IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of SAP Business One or similar ERP/MRP systems beneficial (training provided).
- Self‑motivated, organised and able to work with minimal supervision.
