Your new company
A prestigious accountancy and business advisory firm highly regarded in the UK, have a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Senior to join their Small Business team.


Your new role
As part of the Small Business team you will be encouraged to develop meaningful relationships with a range of clients, from ambitious entrepreneurial SME's to large multinational groups. Some of your duties will include -

Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts with little supervision.
Prepare VAT returns.
Prepare year-end audit files for clients with supporting schedules for all balance sheet terms and tax-sensitive profit and loss items.
Maintain and build relationships with clients and ensure that all communications are conducted professionally.
Build trust and connect with clients and targets by listening and showing empathy and patience.
Demonstrate a sound awareness of how the business operates, the commercial environment and its impact on the client's business.
Train junior members on accounts software and other processes critical to their current or future work.
Be responsible for bookkeeping, including preparing, processing and recording bank transactions, processing purchases, sales and general ledger entries for a wide variety of clients, including the group's larger, more complex clients.
Manage information efficiently.
Maintain awareness of risk and deliver high quality documents.


What you'll need to succeed
You will be ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent, with proven experience of management accounts, and good VAT and corporate tax knowledge. You're proactive with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and able to build long-lasting relationships with clients. You'll have solid bookkeeping skills and good working knowledge of cloud accounting software, basic knowledge of UK business rules and regulations. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and all standard in-house packages. Experience of audit file preparation and lialson with audit teams is preferred but not essential.
