Assistant Accountant – ERP & Business Systems- Hybrid - FTC

Your new company

You will be joining a well-established, high-growth organisation operating in a fast-moving consumer goods environment. The business is undergoing a period of significant transformation, with a strong focus on improving systems, controls and commercial insight. With a collaborative culture and a clear investment in finance capability, this is an excellent opportunity to develop both technical accounting and systems expertise.

Your new role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, this role blends core accounting responsibilities with active involvement in ERP and business systems initiatives. You will support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring balance sheet integrity through accurate reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments. You will also contribute to management reporting, cost analysis and product-level margin reporting in a high-volume operational environment.
Alongside the day-to-day accounting, you will act as a key finance representative on ERP-related projects, including system implementations, enhancements and integrations. Working closely with external consultants and internal stakeholders, you will help translate finance requirements into system solutions, support testing activities, validate data migration and contribute to the design and documentation of future-state finance processes. Post go-live, you will play an important role in issue resolution, user support and identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes.
The role will also involve regular interaction with operations, supply chain, sales and IT to ensure finance requirements are embedded in system design and reporting, with exposure to KPI development and dashboarding.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will be a part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with demonstrable experience in a finance or accounting role. You will have a solid grounding in general ledger accounting, month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations, ideally within a fast-paced or operationally complex environment.
You will have prior exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite or similar, and be comfortable working with external consultants or system providers. Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to work cross-functionally are essential. A genuine interest in systems, process improvement and how finance data supports decision-making will be key to your success.
Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or a product-led environment, knowledge of inventory accounting or standard costing, and advanced Excel or reporting tool exposure would be advantageous but not essential.

What you'll get in return

  • £30,000–£35,000 per annum
  • Hybrid working
  • Hands on involvement in major ERP System transformation
  • Paid holidays
  • On site parking
  • A positive, inclusive working culture where your contribution is valued
