Accounts Assistant needed for a 6-month contract in an excellent Havant-based organisation

Your new company

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail‑driven Accounts Assistant to join the team. If you enjoy working with numbers, have experience in Accounts Payable or Receivable, and thrive in a busy environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high‑performing finance function.

Your new role

As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll support the delivery of an efficient and accurate finance service across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management and banking. Your work will directly support service teams and ensure external suppliers and customers receive a high‑quality experience.
You’ll be responsible for:
  • Processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions accurately and on time
  • Managing income, cashiering tasks and supporting treasury activity such as BACS payments
  • Ensuring invoices are paid promptly and outstanding debt is monitored and followed up
  • Providing excellent customer service to colleagues, suppliers and service users
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data is processed securely
  • Producing aged debtor and creditor reports to support financial decision-making
  • Supporting system updates, digital improvements and general finance administration
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Finance, Procurement and service teams

What you'll need to succeed
You’ll be someone who thrives on accuracy, consistency and good customer service. You'll demonstrate strong numeracy and excellent attention to detail and will have experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Cashiering, with a background in high‑volume financial processing and treasury tasks such as BACS payments. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Good IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and finance systems, are required, as well as the ability to clearly explain financial processes to non‑finance colleagues. Adaptability in a fast‑paced and evolving environment is key.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will get a competitive hourly rate, paid weekly, plus holiday. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to gain valuable exposure to this excellent organisation.
