Assistant Accountant | Derbyshire

This well-established business, based in Derbyshire, are market leaders in their field, seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to support the efficient operation of the accounts department.
Your new role
You will ensure the smooth operation of this Accounts Department. You will work within the finance team by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis.- Reconcile authorised purchase ledger invoices.
- Create new supplier accounts and keep supplier account details updated
- Manage and resolve any supplier invoice queries
- Calculation and analysis of accruals and prepayments
- Analysis of invoices
- Reconcile bank accounts and assign sales invoices
- Intercompany postings and reconciliation
- Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Assets register
- Prepare/review weekly payment runs for approval
- Assist with reviews of stock provisions
- Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Provide information and analysis required for audits
What you'll need to succeed
- AAT qualified /part-qualified accountant
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- SAP systems knowledge
- Experience working in a similar role
