We are working with a growing pharmaceutical company based in Middleton, committed to delivering innovative healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes. As part of their continued expansion, we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join the finance team.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in finance who is looking to develop their career in a fast-paced, regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase invoices, credit notes, and employee expenses
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with data entry
- Help prepare VAT returns and other statutory filings
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers
- Assist with audit preparation and year-end processes
- Contribute to finance process improvements and system upgrades
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role (ideally within a regulated or manufacturing environment)
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, SAP)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable
