Your new role

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. Your responsibilities will include analysing financial data and trends, conducting variance analysis, preparing financial models, and assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. You will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial reports, compliance with financial regulations, and supporting internal and external audits. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to support business initiatives and drive process improvements within the finance function.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need strong organisational and time-management skills, along with diplomacy, integrity, and reliability. A deep understanding of financial principles and advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software such as Sage are essential. You should have excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a professional approach with a good work ethic. A relevant professional accounting qualification or working towards one is required.
