Due to a period of change within the finance team, they are now looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a fixed-term basis to support the smooth running of financial operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain broad exposure across a professional finance function within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Your new role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, supporting both transactional and administrative processes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate coding across the general ledger, cost centres, and projects
- Monitoring the finance inbox and responding to internal and external queries
- Preparing supplier payment runs and supporting timely payments
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Allocating incoming payments and maintaining accurate sales ledger records
- Monitoring debtor balances and supporting credit control activities where required
- Processing bank transactions and performing regular bank reconciliations
- Supporting staff expenses and company credit card administration
- Assisting with journals, accruals, and general finance processes
- Providing general administrative support across the finance team
- Supporting compliance processes where required
This is a varied and hands-on role, offering strong exposure across both accounts payable and receivable, making it ideal for someone looking to develop a broad understanding of finance operations within a busy and dynamic organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience within a finance or accounts administration role
- Experience processing invoices or supporting accounts payable processes
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
