Assistant Accountant, 18-Month Fixed Term Contract, Maternity Cover, Crewe, Hybrid
Your New Role
You’ll be joining a professional finance team on an 18-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This hybrid role offers flexibility for remote working while maintaining collaboration with the office team.
Your responsibilities will include
Leading the purchase ledger function and managing supplier payments.
Administering banking and payment processes in line with internal controls.
Producing monthly, quarterly, and annual management information (MI) and reconciliations.
Assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with auditors.
Preparing financial reports for the parent organisation.
Maintaining sections of the Finance Manual to ensure documentation is current and compliant.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Part-qualification in CIMA or AAT Level 4.
Experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
Strong understanding of purchase ledger and banking processes.
Proficiency in financial reporting and reconciliations.
Experience supporting statutory accounts preparation.
Excellent communication skills, especially when dealing with auditors.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Confidence using Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
A proactive and reliable approach to managing responsibilities.
