Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be partnering with a market-leading manufacturing business in Kings Lynn who are looking for an exceptional part-qualified or qualified financial accountant to give commitment to a 12-month contract which offers flexible part-time hours of 3 days a week.

Your new role

The role requires a part‑qualified or fully qualified Financial Accountant to join the finance team and take responsibility for intercompany accounting, month‑end delivery, fixed asset management and group cash forecasting, as well as being involved in year‑end accounts and audit support. As an experienced financial accountant, your key duties will involve:-

  • Intercompany and internal recharges: provide detailed analysis of all intercompany/internal recharges and ensure invoices are raised promptly.
  • Group accounting and reporting: ensure all legal entities' intercompany transactions are correctly recognised, and the Group reporting system is updated with monthly submissions
  • Fixed asset management: maintain the fixed asset register, process postings and manage capital accounting records; review capital expenditure appraisals for cash flow, budget and payment‑term considerations prior to approval.
  • Cash flow forecasting: prepare, analyse and report the group's weekly rolling cash flow forecast and provide clear commentary where required.
  • Billing support: assist the Senior Management Accountant with raising miscellaneous invoices.
  • Year‑end and audit: support the Financial Controller in preparation of year‑end accounts and the annual audit.
  • Reconciliations and month‑end: Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations (and P&Ls where applicable) for various group entities; prepare month‑end files and post journals for Fixed Assets, Accruals, Prepayments, Deferred Income, Intercompany, etc.
  • Process improvement: work with the Financial Controller and UK Shared Services Manager to identify, develop and implement policies, processes and systems to improve control, delivery and efficiency.
This is a crucial role in reporting on the overall financial performance of the business and requires an individual to have the confidence and technical financial skills to support the wider finance team. Ideally, you will have a similar background with a manufacturing business or be able to demonstrate your transferable skills from practice if you have supported a manufacturing business.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be able to prepare cash flow forecasts and present clear, insightful commentary. You will be highly proficient in Excel, able to maintain excellent attention to detail, be systems‑minded and committed to continuous improvement.

As a part-time financial accountant, you will have strong communication with confident stakeholder management skills and be able to work 3-days in Kings Lynn Norfolk.

What you'll get in return

The organisation offers a salary of circa £45,000 pro rata for 3-days, 28-days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata), an 8% pension contribution and the flexibility to work 3 days a week.
