Your new role
An interim Finance Business Partner role, reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering. The role supports the Head of Business Partnering in providing finance support to the Functional Executive team members and their teams, as well as delivering key financial processes including month-end, rolling forecasts and the three-year plans. The main activities of the role include: Ensuring appropriate financial controls for several cost centres within the functional cost base. Ensuring that actual, forecast and budgeted costs are fully understood by budget holders at all times. Providing Executive level commentary and insightful MI across functional finances, including monthly flash, and functional/cost centre reporting. Providing proactive financial support by understanding how functional strategy, interlinks with transformation activity and BAU, performing financial modelling, including investment appraisals and scenario modelling. Analysing and understanding the group finance landscape and proactively engaging with relevant teams to support and deliver actuals, forecast, plan or modelling activities including FP&R, systems and tax. Providing commercial support and, as appropriate, challenging proposed activity with alternative proposals. Ensuring budget holders have relevant information required to make decisions and where possible, automating the provision of data. Collaborating with procurement to ensure the adherence to internal policies, contracts are within funding and there is transparency. You will be seen as a true partner to the Functional leadership teams, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a fully qualified accountant, with experience of a Finance Business Partner role in a large and complex organisation. You will have sound management accounting skills, but also proven analytical and commercial experience. You will be highly IT-literate, with strong analysis and modelling skills and be used to working with large amounts of data. You will be an accomplished Business Partner, comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels. Previous experience of Business Cases and investment appraisal would be an advantage, as would exposure to large ERP systems like SAP or ORACLE. You will be available to start in the next few weeks and happy to commit to a contract of at least 6 months.
