Interim Head of Finance/ Projects
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for leading the annual budgeting process for a large national organisation with multiple contracts across the UK.
You will also support the finance director with a number of projects to increase the efficiency of the finance team, which could include:- Reporting Overhaul: Redesign financial reporting processes, improve automation, and provide enhanced access to financial data for budget holders.
- Month-End Process Reduction: Find ways to cut down timelines, standardise tasks, and boost efficiency through SOPs and templates.
- Income Recognition Policy: Create and roll out a comprehensive policy that meets all accounting standards.
- Streamlining Invoicing Process: Spot inefficiencies and work with cross-functional teams to automate and optimise workflows.
- Credit Control Process Enhancement: Review and improve current processes to ensure timely and accurate management of accounts receivable.
- Transfer to Finance Shared Services: Lead the migration of invoicing and credit control processes to a centralised team, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Contract Control & Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Design and standardise reconciliation processes, developing tools to support these new systems.
- Accruals and Prepayments Reconciliation: Implement new processes and train the team for effective management.

- Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, and a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA). - Skills: Strong project management, proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools, excellent communication and stakeholder management, and the ability to lead and mentor teams through change.
