Accounts Assistant | Bolton | Up to £32,000 | Office based | 22 days holiday plus bank holidays

Your new company

I am working exclusively with a small, but growing services provider based in Bolton who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent and full time basis. This organisation has grown year-on-year, now reporting a £7million financial turnover with a strong UK and Ireland presence.

Your new role

In your new role as Accounts Assistant, your role will involve managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate records, and timely payments for suppliers and customers. Key responsibilities include processing payments, invoicing customers, sending payment reminders, and reconciling accounts. The role also involves maintaining detailed financial records, ensuring data accuracy, and preparing accounting databases. Additionally, it includes identifying and resolving discrepancies, preparing financial reports, handling correspondence, processing weekly expenses, and supporting ad hoc finance projects. Payroll administration is also a part of the role, involving coordination with HR for payroll processing. This is a full time role, working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have AAT Level 2-3 qualifications and experience in accounts payable, covering the full process cycle. You should possess strong IT and numerical skills, particularly in Excel, and demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. The role demands high organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Experience with Sage cloud is preferable.

What you'll get in return

The position offers a salary of between £28,000 - £32,000, depending on experience, with a fixed 35-hour work week. Employees receive 22 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with additional days granted for continuous service. The role also includes a company pension plan.
