Are you an experienced finance professional looking for your next opportunity? We are currently recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join a reputable and fast-growing business based in Preston. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team environment with a company known for its longevity and family feel.

Your new role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be a key member of the Accounts Team, responsible for supporting the business with various financial and administrative tasks. Your duties will include raising invoices, processing expenses, and handling all other operational administrative duties. You will be recording and processing transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciling invoices, and identifying discrepancies. Additionally, you will enter financial transactions into internal databases and maintain accurate records.

Your role will also involve updating client information, managing telephone and email communications, and supporting the team in efficiently resolving outstanding queries. You will assist with reports for management as needed, create and update expense reports, and process reimbursement forms. Furthermore, you will undertake any administrative tasks or projects required to aid the function of the team. While payroll responsibilities are included in this role, no prior experience is necessary as training will be provided.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you should have strong administrative experience and a good understanding of accounting functions. Experience working with financial systems is beneficial. You should be a team player who can work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Excel (with familiarity with formulas and Lookups), and Sage 50 is desirable. A high attention to detail and a flexible, enthusiastic attitude towards work are essential.

In return for your hard work, you will be offered a competitive salary of up to £32,000, depending on experience. You will benefit from fully flexible working hours, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. The role comes with 28 days of holiday, increasing to 33 days with years of service.
