Your New Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team with various accounting tasks. You need to have experience within credit control/AR and purchase ledger, and must have worked within a finance team for 2-3 years. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing invoices and expense claims
- Managing the debtors and credit control procedure
- Liaising with internal departments such as project managers and sales team
- Make bank payments, ensuring up to date records
- Reconciling bank statements
- Assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records and updating cash forecast spreadsheet
- Data entry
- Month-end journal posting
- Providing cover for other members of the team when necessary
- Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Liaising with suppliers and clients to resolve any financial queries
What You Will Need
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (desirable but not essential)
- An Accounting Qualification (eg AAT), desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in CRM or ERP financial software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
