We are currently recruiting two enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join the team at Half Penny Lane Primary School in Pontefract. These are ongoing temporary roles offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children's education and development.
Position 1: Year 3 Teaching Assistant (General & SEN Support)
In this role, you will:
- Support the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities.
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.
- Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including emotional and behavioural support.
- Assist in preparing learning materials and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to implement inclusive strategies.service
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with KS2 pupils and supporting SEN learners.
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to individual pupil needs.
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
Position 2: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant
In this role, you will:
- Support children aged 3–5 in both small group and whole class sessions.
- Help deliver play-based learning activities that promote early literacy, numeracy, and social development.
- Attend to children’s personal needs including hygiene, emotional wellbeing, and minor first aid.
- Contribute to planning and assessment under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children.diamond learning trust+1
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in EYFS settings and knowledge of the EYFS framework.
- Creative, nurturing, and passionate about early childhood development.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
