After Easter until May Half Term-Temporary / Full‑time

Are you an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher looking for a supportive and rewarding short-term post after Easter? Hays Education is working with a values-driven primary school in the Willenhall area that is seeking a dedicated Year 5 teacher to cover a period of staff sickness until May half term.

This warm and nurturing primary school is known for its strong community ethos and commitment to creating a positive learning environment where every child is valued. The school promotes respect, resilience, high expectations, and a culture in which pupils are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally. Staff work collaboratively, championing creativity, wellbeing, and consistent routines to support every learner.

The Role
  • You will take responsibility for teaching a well behaved and enthusiastic Year 5 class.
  • Planning is already completed — you’ll simply be able to adapt and deliver it in your own style.
  • You’ll be supported by a friendly team, approachable leadership, and strong KS2 colleagues.
  • The role involves full teaching responsibilities, including classroom delivery, assessment for learning and maintaining a positive, engaging learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, you must have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching KS2, ideally Upper KS2
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to build rapport quickly
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new DBS application through Hays
  • A proactive, flexible and committed approach to teaching

What you'll get in return

  • Paid up to £170 per day (depending on experience)
  • Receive the benefits of working with your own personal consultant.
  • We will support you by looking for more roles when this role ends.
  • Receive £250 in high street vouchers every time you recommend a friend to us
  • Local work available to you in the West Midlands.
