Year 5 Teacher Widnes

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Widnes is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join their team on a short-term basis. This role will begin immediately after the October half term and continue until the end of term in December.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the full Year 5 curriculum, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, and ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported during this transitional period. The class is well-settled, with pupils who are eager to learn and respond well to structure and creativity in the classroom. You will be supported by a strong leadership team and collaborative colleagues who are committed to providing a positive learning environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher looking to gain further classroom experience. The school prides itself on its warm and nurturing ethos, and staff are valued for their contributions to the wider school community.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Recent experience teaching (whether completed as part of your placement or employment)
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students thrive
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to teaching
  • An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Willing to obtain references
  • An up to date Overseas Police Check if you have been living outside the UK
