Your new school

A warm, community‑driven primary school in Rotherham is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Teacher to join their team from April to July. The school is deeply rooted in the community it serves and benefits from exceptionally strong parental engagement. With a high proportion of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium and a significant number of EAL learners, the school has invested heavily in targeted support. As a result, pupils have made impressive progress, reflected in strong Year 6 SATs outcomes in recent years.

You will take full responsibility for the Year 5 class during this period, ensuring continuity of learning while the school recruits for the permanent post. This is a crucial role in preparing pupils for the transition into Year 6, helping to set the foundations for their academic success and confidence as they move into their final year of primary education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging, well‑structured lessons in line with the curriculum

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 or Year 6 experience desirable)
  • A passion for raising attainment and supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference
What you’ll get in return
  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Ongoing support from your dedicated Hays consultant
  • Access to CPD opportunities and safeguarding training
  • The opportunity to make a lasting impact in a supportive and forward‑thinking school
What you need to do now
If you’re interested in this role, please get in touch as soon as possible to discuss the next steps. Interviews and onboarding are taking place throughout February and March.
