Salary: £36, 413 - £48, 532 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: January 2026

Hays Education is working in partnership with the school to appoint an experienced Year 5 Class Teacher for a Monday 5th January 2026 start.

The Role

We are seeking a confident and capable primary teacher to take full responsibility for a Year 5 class. You will deliver high quality teaching, maintain strong routines and create a purposeful learning environment where all pupils feel supported and motivated.

This is a full-class-based role with planning, assessment and parent communication responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

•QTS in UK or equivalent
•Strong experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
•Excellent behaviour management, with the confidence to address low level chattiness
•Secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum
•Ability to support pupils with typical classroom-based SEN
•A reflective, proactive and positive approach to teaching
•Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

•Right to work in the UK
•Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
•Proof of address and proof of identity
•Two recent, relevant references, including your most recent school
•Full employment history, with explanations for any gaps
•Overseas police checks if you have lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years
•Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in UK
•Completion of Hays’ mandatory safeguarding training prior to placement
