Year 4 Teaching Assistant to work at a school in the Kings Heath area, B14

The Role
We are seeking a caring and reliable Teaching Assistant to join the Year 4 team on a part-time basis. This role involves providing one-to-one support for a pupil who experiences sporadic seizures. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure her safety during these episodes and assist her in re-engaging with learning when appropriate.

Hours & Contract:
  • Part-time: 2 days a week – Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • Temporary contract: January 2026 until February half-term

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer calm and reassuring support during seizures, following school protocols.
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO to provide tailored assistance.
  • Help the pupil access learning activities and maintain inclusion in the classroom.
  • Foster a positive and supportive relationship to encourage confidence and independence.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Preferably Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting (preferred).
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to supporting learning and wellbeing.
