Hays Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a thriving primary school in Blackburn. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child's education, providing tailored support and encouragement in a nurturing learning environment.

Your new role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with a specific pupil, offering tailored support in line with their individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to implement personalised learning strategies.
  • Support the pupil’s academic and social development, fostering confidence and independence.
  • Assist in classroom activities while maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers, SENCO, and parents.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 support role.
  • Understanding of SEN needs and experience adapting teaching approaches accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach to learning.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).
