About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Northumberland. This full‑time role will be based in a Year 2 classroom, supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and development. Duties of this role will include classroom support, lunchtime cover and 2 nights after-school club support (flexible on which days)

This is a temporary position until Easter, with a possibility of extension until the end of the summer term, depending on funding and school need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of high‑quality learning.
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress.
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
  • Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Providing pastoral support to pupils and encouraging positive behaviour.
  • Contributing to assessment and pupil records as required.
About You
  • Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in an educational setting.
  • Hold a relevant qualification (or have strong equivalent experience).
  • Are confident supporting pupils across Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2.
  • Have a nurturing approach and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
  • They are reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
