Location: South Birmingham
Contract: Full‑time, 1‑year maternity cover, 5 days per week
Pay: Paid to scale (MPS)
Start: 13th April 2026

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teacher looking for a rewarding role in a supportive and community‑focused school? A well‑established primary setting in South Birmingham is seeking a committed class teacher to join their team from Easter for a 12‑month maternity contract.

Your new role

You will take full responsibility for a year 2 class within the primary phase, delivering engaging, high‑quality lessons that support pupils’ academic and personal development. You will work collaboratively with a supportive staff team who share a commitment to raising standards and providing a rich, well‑balanced curriculum.

You will:
  • Plan and deliver creative, well‑structured lessons in line with the school’s curriculum
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within KS1, ideally in Year 2
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • A passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
  • A proactive, reflective approach to teaching
