Year 2 Teacher position in Walsall, Starting in January

Do you have a passion for supporting young learners and a strong background in phonics? We’re looking for a skilled Year 2 teacher who can inspire, engage, and help pupils achieve their full potential in a dynamic and supportive school environment. Your Responsibilities:
  • Take full responsibility for a Year 2 class, delivering high-quality teaching with a strong focus on phonics and literacy development.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
  • Benefit from allocated PPA time to support planning and assessment.
  • Work collaboratively with a dedicated Teaching Assistant who provides targeted support for pupils with additional needs and EHCP plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with the TA to ensure effective provision for individual learners.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to the wider school community.

What you'll need to succeed :

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Previous experience teaching Year 2 and delivering phonics-based learning.
  • Strong classroom management and ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
