Year 2 Class Teacher is required for a Manchester Primary School
A Year 2 Class Teacher is required for a Manchester Primary School to cover a secondment, starting on 03/11/25 to 12/02/26 initially, though could be extended. The post is full-time. We welcome applications from ECT's and experienced teachers.
Purpose of the Role:
To provide high-quality teaching and learning for Year 2 pupils, ensuring their spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development in line with the teachings and values of the Catholic faith.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and the school's Catholic ethos.
Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes Gospel values.
Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, using data to inform planning and interventions.
Support pupils in preparing for Key Stage 1 assessments (e.g., KS1 SATs).
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support pupil development.
Participate in collective worship, liturgical celebrations, and the wider faith life of the school.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and pastoral care.
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and school events.
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
A commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment requirements for KS1.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
Experience in preparing pupils for KS1 SATs.
Familiarity with Read Write Inc., White Rose Maths, or similar schemes.
Experience working in a faith-based school setting.
