A welcoming and nurturing primary school just outside Bridgwater is seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their team from January through to the end of the summer term. The school is known for its supportive staff, engaging curriculum and warm community atmosphere.

Your new role

You will be teaching Year 1 on a part‑time basis (Thursdays and Fridays), taking full teaching responsibility for the class. You’ll deliver creative and engaging lessons, support early learning development and contribute to the wider Key Stage 1 team. This role is paid to scale, reflecting your experience and qualifications.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong knowledge of Key Stage 1
• Experience teaching phonics (preferred)
• A positive, proactive approach and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality teaching and learning
