Your new school

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in North Birmingham is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Year 1 teacher to join its dedicated team. This full-time maternity cover position begins after October half-term and will continue until the end of the academic year. A handover period with the current class teacher is planned to ensure a smooth transition. For candidates with relevant experience, there is potential for middle / senior leadership responsibilities.


Your new role

The successful candidate will join a well-established Key Stage 1 team, supported by experienced teaching assistants who provide targeted interventions and pastoral care. The school has a culture of teamwork, reflection, and continuous improvement. Pupils are respectful, curious, and engaged. Behaviour is consistently managed through clear routines and positive reinforcement.


  • Full-time (5 days/week), starting after October half-term
  • Maternity cover until July 2026
  • Responsible for planning, teaching, and marking across the Year 1 curriculum
  • Opportunity for leadership depending on experience
  • Must be an experienced teacher with a strong understanding of KS1 pedagogy
