Your new role
As a Year 1 SEN TA, you will:
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism, helping them access the curriculum and develop social and emotional skills.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions.
- Use visual aids, sensory tools, and structured routines to support learning and engagement.
- Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and planning.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working with children with autism, ideally in a school setting.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
