Hays Education is recruiting a full-time Year 5/6 Teacher for a welcoming primary school in the Taunton area. This is a long-term teaching role with full responsibility, starting ASAP and running through to the end of the summer term.
This opportunity is ideal for a confident KS2 Primary Teacher who can quickly integrate into a school and provide consistency for pupils in Upper Key Stage 2.
Job Details:
- Role: Year 5 / Year 6 Teacher (KS2)

- Responsibility: Full planning, preparation and assessment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum (KS2)
- Take full classroom responsibility for a Year 5/6 class
- Plan, prepare and assess pupils’ progress effectively.
- Maintain strong behaviour management and classroom routines
- Work collaboratively with school staff and leadership
- Support pupil attainment and wellbeing
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Year 5, Year 6 or Upper KS2
- Strong knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum
- Ability to commit to a full-time teaching post
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Available to start immediately
