Rate: £16.85 per hour

Contract: 4-week temporary assignment
Location: Hybrid – 3–4 days in the office or on-site (Sandwell Community Hub or education centres across the borough)
Requirement: Basic DBS

About the Role

Hays is working in partnership with a local council to recruit a Workwell Engagement Officer for a short-term contract. This role is focused on supporting community engagement with the Workwell scheme, an NHS initiative designed to help individuals with an illness or disability (including self-diagnosed conditions) access employment or education opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process referrals to ensure participants can join the Workwell programme.
  • Attend community venues across Sandwell alongside another officer to meet residents and encourage sign-ups.
  • Complete the initial stage of the onboarding process for new participants.
  • Conduct occasional check-in calls to monitor progress and provide support.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage with diverse communities in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Organised and proactive approach to managing referrals and outreach activities.
  • Basic DBS clearance is essential.
