A supportive resource base within a mainstream school in the Willenhall area is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team for a September start.
For candidates who are available sooner, there is the opportunity to start immediately and support pupils ahead of the new academic year.
These Teaching Assistant jobs in Willenhall are available on a full‑time and part‑time basis and are ideal for those with experience or a strong interest in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Teaching Assistant Role – Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant working within the resource base, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEND
- Supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, communication and interaction needs, and additional learning needs
- Assisting with the delivery of differentiated lessons planned by the teacher
- Supporting pupils within the resource base and mainstream classrooms where appropriate
- Assisting with emotional regulation, behaviour support, and social skills development
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement with learning
- Supporting transitions between lessons and learning environments
- Monitoring and feeding back on pupil progress to teachers and SEN staff
- Assisting with personal care where required (training provided if necessary)
- Supporting pupils in line with their EHCP targets
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people (SEND experience desirable)
- A calm, patient, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine commitment to inclusive education
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential
