You’ll be joining a respected local authority committed to delivering efficient and sustainable waste management services across the region.
Your new role
As a Waste Management Supervisor, you will oversee the Waste Transfer Station (WTS) and Waste Haulage operations. Your responsibilities will include supervising HGV drivers and waste operatives, managing on-site assets, planning logistics, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management systems.
You’ll also play a key role in staff training and development while liaising with stakeholders such as the Environment Agency and Traffic Commissioner.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, plus 1 in 3 weekends.
Pay: £18.83 – £20.35 per hour (Umbrella).

What you'll need to succeed
- HGV Licence & Driver CPC (or willingness to work towards)
- Loading shovel/plant ticket or Train the Trainer qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3/BTEC or equivalent
- WAMITAB CoTC Level 3 (or working towards)
- Experience supervising employees in waste management or similar industry
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office and industry software)
- Full, valid driving licence
