Your new school

You will be joining a warm and welcoming primary school located within the Telford & Wrekin area. The school has proudly served its local community for many years, offering a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment where pupils from all backgrounds are supported to become happy, successful and curious communicators.
The school places great importance on building strong relationships with pupils and families, ensuring every child is personally known and supported — academically, socially and emotionally. As a larger than average primary setting, it maintains a nurturing, community focused atmosphere enriched by excellent IT provision and extensive outdoor learning opportunities, including a forest school area, playing fields and an all weather multi use games area.
Staff are committed to delivering a broad, balanced and high quality curriculum designed to equip pupils with essential knowledge and 21st‑century skills. The school values wellbeing, home–school partnership and memorable experiences such as educational visits, workshops and guest speakers.
Guided by the ethos that “with small steps, every pupil can make giant progress”, the school celebrates the achievements of every child within a warm, supportive and family friendly environment.

Your new role

A vacancy has arisen in Upper Key Stage 2 due to the current Year 6 teacher moving on to a promotion. The school is seeking a caring and dedicated practitioner for the summer term, who can provide stability and continuity at a time when pupils—who are extremely fond of their current teacher—will benefit from strong, positive relationships.
Depending on your strengths and experience, you will teach Year 6 or Year 5.
In this role, you will:
  • Teach a class of 30 pupils in Y5 or Y6.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well structured lessons as part of the year group team.
  • Receive one full PPA day every fortnight, which may be completed from home.
  • Work with TA support throughout the school day.
  • Build relationships that support pupils through a period of change.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Contribute to partially completed end of year reports.
  • Take part in optional parent meetings following the distribution of reports.
  • No residential commitments – this will be taking place in the spring 2 half term.

What you'll need to succeed

The school is looking for someone who is:
  • A qualified primary teacher (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome).
  • Warm, relational and committed to pastoral care.
  • Skilled at building rapport and supporting pupils sensitively through transition.
  • Confident in delivering the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Organised, reflective and a collaborative team player.

What you'll get in return

You will join a supportive and dedicated staff team with strong leadership and a shared commitment to pupil wellbeing and progress. You’ll benefit from at home PPA time, TA support and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a key point in pupils’ educational journey. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who is looking to get back into teaching, or someone who is looking to move from supply teaching to secure a teaching post from September 2026.
