Property Underwriter - London/hybrid, up to £60,000 (D.O.E)

A well-established and growing insurer is looking to strengthen its underwriting capability within their Property team. The business has a strong reputation for technical expertise, collaboration, and career development, and offers a structured environment with clear progression opportunities.

Your new role

You will join the Property underwriting team, working as part of a close-knit and experienced function. The role will involve underwriting a portfolio of property risks across a varied account, supporting broker relationships and contributing to the profitable growth of the portfolio. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has completed their CII training and is ready to step up into a more autonomous underwriting role. You would have experience within an MGA, Composite or Broker) alongside exposure to Property underwriting or, alternatively, come from a broker background with strong liability experience. You would already have experience in writing UK Property (commercial) or Real estate risks and would have dealt with complex UK risks – being both renewal and new business.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have experience working within the insurance market and have exposure to property underwriting, or alternatively come from a broker background with relevant Property experience. You will have gained exposure to property underwriting, or alternatively come from a broker background with relevant property experience. Ideally, you will have completed the Cert CII or an equivalent entry‑level professional qualification. You should be confident communicating with brokers and internal stakeholders alongside being able to build strong working relationships. You will demonstrate a proactive attitude, commercial awareness and a desire to continue developing your underwriting skillset.
