Data Manager Job Available at Multi-Academy Trust in Salford

A growing Multi-Academy Trust in Salford are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Manager to join their central team on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. This is a pivotal position responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of academic data across all schools within the Trust. You will manage their Management Information System (MIS), produce high-quality reports, and provide actionable insights to senior leaders, enabling data-driven decisions that improve outcomes for pupils.

Location: Multi-Academy Trust (Multi-Site)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £22.99 - £25.86/hour

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensure overall accuracy, consistency, integrity, and security of Trust-wide academic data.
  • Day-to-day management of the MIS
  • Maintain admin permissions across schools, including adding/removing users and managing access levels.
  • Produce, quality-assure, and analyse assessment, attendance, and behaviour data.
  • Deliver weekly Trust-level attendance and behaviour reports.
  • Compile and analyse performance data, including predicted vs actual outcomes and trend identification.
  • Flag pupils, groups, or cohorts requiring early intervention.
  • Produce examination and baseline assessment data as needed.
  • Populate and maintain the Trust data dashboard.
  • Conduct comparative analysis across schools and key groups (SEND, PP, key stages).
  • Perform consistency checks to ensure data is entered and interpreted uniformly across schools.
  • Support Heads and SLT with data interpretation, not just reporting.
  • Monitor data collection timelines and chase incomplete or inaccurate returns.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Manage statutory returns (e.g., DfE census, LA submissions).
  • Support integration with systems such as SISRA and CPOMS.
  • Provide day-to-day end-user support for staff around data systems.
  • Maintain the Trust calendar and communication mechanisms for sharing key data and reports.
  • Utilise strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in data management, experience within an Education setting is ideal but not necessary!
  • Strong knowledge of MIS platforms, or ability to adapt quickly to new systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query desirable).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support senior leaders with data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of statutory returns and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
