A well-established international organisation within the distribution and logistics sector is seeking a Transportation Specialist to join its UK operations team based in Milton Keynes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics or transportation professional to play a key role in ensuring the smooth, compliant and cost-effective movement of goods across multiple transport modes within a fast-paced environment.

The role


Reporting into the logistics function, you will be responsible for coordinating daily transportation activity, liaising with carriers and internal teams, resolving transit issues and maintaining accurate documentation. You will ensure shipments are delivered on time, within budget and in line with UK and international transport regulations.

Key responsibilities include:


• Coordinating inbound and outbound LTL and truck shipments
• Communicating with carriers, vendors and internal stakeholders
• Managing Bills of Lading, shipping documentation and Proof of Delivery requests
• Resolving transit issues, delivery discrepancies and customs delays
• Processing and reconciling freight invoices, claims and tracers
• Approving carrier invoices and investigating billing discrepancies
• Maintaining transport data within internal systems
• Ensuring compliance with UK customs, post Brexit trade procedures and carrier requirements

What you’ll need to succeed


• Proven experience in transportation, logistics or supply chain operations
• Strong knowledge of freight processes, carrier requirements and documentation
• Experience working with transport or ERP systems (e.g. Oracle or similar)
• Good numerical skills with experience reconciling invoices
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Confident communication skills and a strong customer service mindset
A minimum of high school level education (or equivalent) is required, along with several years’ relevant operational experience within logistics or transportation.
