Primary Teacher | KS1 | Torquay, Devon
ASAP Start – Until Summer Holidays
Hays Education is working in partnership with a friendly primary school in the Torquay area to recruit a full-time Year 2 Teacher. This is a long-term teaching role with full class responsibility, starting ASAP and continuing through to the end of the summer term.
This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher who is confident teaching Year 2, including curriculum coverage and assessment requirements.
Job Details:
- Role: Year 2 Teacher (KS1)
- Type: Full-time, long-term
- Location: Torquay, Devon
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Until summer holidays
- Responsibility: Full planning, preparation and assessment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
- Take full responsibility for a Year 2 class
- Plan, prepare and assess pupils’ learning and progress
- Support pupils with transition and end-of-key-stage outcomes
- Maintain positive behaviour and inclusive classroom practice
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and senior leaders
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching Year 2 or Key Stage 1
- Good understanding of KS1 assessment and curriculum expectations
- Ability to commit to a full-time teaching role
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Available for an immediate start
