Tenancy Officer (Social Housing) Temp contract

We're looking to recruit a proactive Tenancy Officer in Liverpool to support our social housing client on a temporary contract until December 2025. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, office-based.

You'll be responsible for handling a range of housing processes, from tenancy changes and mutual exchanges to succession claims and permission requests. You'll be a go-to-person for resolving queries, supporting colleagues, and ensuring customers receive a responsive and respectful service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Handle tenancy updates including name changes, household amendments and assignments

  • Manage mutual exchange applications and liaise with relevant teams

  • Respond sensitively to bereavement-related enquiries and succession claims

  • Review and process tenant permission requests, and oversee garage lettings across the organisation

  • Triage and respond to complaints submitted via digital channels

What you'll need to succeed

  • A confident decision maker with a good knowledge of housing policies and procedures, and experience in a housing or tenancy management role

  • A strong communicator who can be tactful and diffuse situations, or manage potentially conflicting scenarios

  • Ability to work under pressure and can adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Basic DBS check
