Job Title: Temporary Accounts Payable Assistant
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire (Hybrid Working)
Hours: Standard office hours with some flexibility on start times (reduced hours considered for the right candidate)
Contract Type: Temp contract ongoing
About the Role:We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Assistant to join a finance team on a ongoing temporary placement. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment, where your contributions will play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of our accounts payable function.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately process and manage incoming invoices in line with company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date and well-documented records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries promptly.
  • Prioritise and process payment requests based on due dates and cash flow considerations.
  • Manage daily and weekly payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and insights.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliance with financial procedures.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency within the AP process.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks and projects as directed by the senior leadership team.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with finance systems and Excel is desirable.
