About the role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Migration Support Technician to assist in the setup and execution of a device refresh and migration project. This role involves hands-on support in managing hardware logistics, refreshing laptops, coordinating device handovers, and maintaining accurate workflow documentation under the guidance of the Contractor Engineer and Site Manager.

Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
Location: Barracks – Chivenor
Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Contract Duration: 7th November 2025 till 21st November 2025
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain the Refresh Clinic in accordance with project specifications and operational standards.
- Transport designated devices from onsite storage to the Refresh Clinic under the direction of the Contractor Engineer and Site Manager.
- Refresh laptops and prepare them for deployment to end users.
- Collect existing devices from users and distribute new devices following the migration schedule and project protocols.
- Ensure accurate handover and collection of devices, maintaining proper inventory control and documentation.
- Log into systems using contractor-provided devices as instructed, ensuring secure and compliant access.
- Update the Contractor’s workflow management system at each stage of the migration process to reflect progress and completion.
- Identify and report any issues encountered during migration activities to the Contractor Engineer and Site Manager.
- Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the onsite Post Migration Support Engineer for resolution.
- Conduct daily manual stock checks and report findings to the Contractor Engineer and Site Manager.
- Repackage collected devices using original packaging and label boxes according to Designation Rules (“Disposal” or “Refurbishment”).
- Secure all devices and equipment in the onsite storage location at the end of each workday.
Other stuff we’re potentially looking for:
- Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions
- Comfortable working in a structured, high-security environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- A per hour, in-scope IR35, of £ 19.38/hr (PAYE) OR £25.15/hr (via a Hays Approved Umbrella Company).
