About the role
Tech 2 serves as the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for the Project Manager and the Customer during onsite IT deployment activities. This role involves leading and coordinating the replacement of desktop PCs, managing Tech 1 support staff, and ensuring smooth handover of laptops and legacy equipment. Tech 2 is responsible for executing tasks based on instructions from the PM and Customer site contact, maintaining high standards of professionalism and accuracy throughout the deployment process.

Our client is currently looking for a recruit to join their current team. Below are the job details for your reference:

Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
Location: Causeway, Regional Shopping Centre, Bristol
Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Contract Duration: 3rd November 2025 & 4th November 2025

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary onsite liaison (SPoC) between the Project Manager and the Customer.
  • Manage and coordinate Tech 1 staff to support deployment activities where applicable.
  • Replace desktop PCs according to specifications provided by the PM and Customer site contact.
  • Hand over laptops directly to the designated customer contact; no installation required.
  • Handle delivery of PCs, whether boxed or unboxed on trolleys, and ensure proper placement onsite.
  • Relocate legacy desktops and laptops to an agreed location onsite as directed by the customer.
  • Dispose of packaging materials onsite in accordance with customer instructions.
  • Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution of tasks.
  • Ensure all activities are documented and reported as per project protocols.

Other stuff we’re potentially looking for:
  • Proven experience in IT hardware deployment and desktop replacement.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage support staff.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Familiarity with onsite logistics and handling of IT equipment.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adapt to dynamic onsite environments.
  • Professional demeanour and commitment to customer satisfaction.
