Job Overview:

We are seeking a Technician 2 to support hardware deployment and laptop refresh activities. The role involves hands-on technical support, device configuration, and coordination with onsite teams to ensure smooth operations and service delivery.

  • Location: Aldershot GU11 2JN
  • Daily Rate: An hourly rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.54 (PAYE) OR £18.87 per hour (via a Hays Approved Umbrella Company).
  • Contract Length: Up to 31/03/2026
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:30 – 17:00)

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage queue tickets assigned to the Hub and surrounding spokes, ensuring timely updates and resolution in line with SLA targets.
  • Handle Hub stock and asset management, including scanning items in/out as per contract requirements.
  • Perform hardware triage and repairs for in-warranty devices, liaising with vendors for parts and returns.
  • Support laptop deployments, device imaging, and configuration using Intune and other remote tools.
  • Conduct locker replenishments and manage disposals through the Hub.
  • Provide technical support for Windows 10/11, macOS, and Linux devices, including Dell, Toshiba, HP, and Apple products.
  • Assist with backup and recovery using Datto and other third-party tools.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, applying antivirus and endpoint protection (Defender, Trend Micro, Carbon Black).
  • Escalate service issues and suggest improvements to the Team Leader.
  • Follow all site regulations and client procedures.
Key Requirements
  • Must have SC Clearance
  • Experience in IT hardware handling and refresh processes.
  • Ability to follow structured migration schedules and instructions.
  • Familiarity with workflow management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good communication and issue reporting capabilities.
