Job Overview:
The Installation Technician is responsible for delivering on-site desktop hardware installation services as part of the wider service delivery function. This role involves unboxing, assembling, and installing IT equipment at user desks, including connecting peripherals and essential cabling such as power and network connections. The technician will perform basic device checks, including power‑on self-tests, and may initiate automated build processes or complete simple scripted configurations following user login. While the technical requirements are straightforward, the role demands strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow structured procedures. Technicians may also be required to work variable shift patterns depending on business needs. This position operates on a four‑day‑per‑week schedule.

Location: Newcastle NE27 0QJ
Daily Rate: PAYE – £13.66/hr (Basic) and UMB – £17.73/hr
Contract Length: 16-Feb-26 to 31-Mar-26

Key Responsibilities
Installation Technicians provide desktop hardware installation services where basic technical skills are required for a service delivery solution. Installation Technicians will typically un-box and install kit to desk and connect peripherals, connect cables (eg power and network) and perform any relevant power on self-tests. Basic steps to start automated builds and simple scripted post-login configuration may also be required. Technicians may be asked to work variable shift patterns as business requires.
