IT Consultancy requires a Technical Project Manager to help their many clients with infrastructure projects
Overview
An experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong background in a managed service provider environment to lead complex IT projects, including data centre migrations and IT integrations. The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical expertise, a proven track record of collaborating with business units to develop and execute project plans, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business units to define project scopes, objectives, and detailed plans for data centre migrations and IT system integrations, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Oversee end-to-end data centre migration projects, including planning, risk assessment, resource allocation, and execution, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions.
- Manage the integration of IT systems, applications, and infrastructure, coordinating with technical teams to ensure compatibility, security, and performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional business units, including IT, operations, and finance, to gather requirements, define deliverables, and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams, leveraging strong technical capabilities to troubleshoot issues, evaluate solutions, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential challenges in data centre migrations and IT integrations.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies, incorporating best practices from MSP environments to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager in an MSP environment.
- Experience working with diverse business units to create and execute project plans.
- Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure, cloud technologies, and IT integration processes.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
